Taxonomy Management

Overview

Manage your taxonomy through conversation with Enterpret Agent. From the Taxonomy page, click Edit Taxonomy to open the Agent. This replaces the previous Taxonomy Manager Agent editing experience.

You can explore your taxonomy, investigate overlapping concepts, and prepare changes to product areas, themes, and sub-themes. Exploring the taxonomy does not change it. Prepared changes are saved for you and are not live until you publish them.

Get started

1. Open Taxonomy in Enterpret.
2. Click Edit Taxonomy to open Enterpret Agent.
3. Describe what you want to understand or change. Include the relevant names and product area.
4. Review the Agent's findings and any questions about the intended result.

If you cannot access taxonomy management, contact your workspace admin or your Enterpret contact.

Describe your request

You can ask the Agent to explore the structure, compare concepts, recommend improvements, or prepare a specific change.

• "Show me the themes and sub-themes under Payment Processing."
• "Find duplicate themes under Authentication and recommend which ones to merge. Do not prepare changes yet."
• "Rename the sub-theme 'Login timeout' to 'Session expires during login'."
• "Create a theme for invoice disputes under Billing > Invoices."
• "Move the Notifications area under Mobile App. Explain the impact first."

The Agent can prepare additions, renames, description updates, moves, merges, removals, and category changes. It checks the existing taxonomy and relevant evidence before preparing changes. For structural changes, it explains the intended result, affected feedback, and decisions that need your confirmation.

If a request has more than one possible meaning or affects other parts of the taxonomy, the Agent asks you to clarify or approve those effects. A research or review request does not authorize changes.

Review prepared changes

A proposal is a recommendation that has not been saved. Prepared changes are saved for your user and are not live.

Ask for an artifact of your current draft changes

Enterpret Agent can generate an artifact that shows your current draft changes when you ask. This gives you a reviewable view of the changes saved for your user before you publish them.

For example, ask: "Generate an artifact showing all my current draft taxonomy changes so I can review them before publishing."

The Agent reads your current saved changes and generates an HTML artifact. The artifact lists the saved actions and available details about the affected product areas, themes, and sub-themes. Generating the artifact does not publish your changes.

The artifact is a snapshot of your draft at the time you request it. After you make more changes, ask the Agent to generate an updated artifact. You can also ask for an artifact in a later chat.

Ask the Agent to correct or discard work before publishing if needed. Some structural changes cannot be reversed exactly. The Agent checks what can be changed safely and asks for confirmation before discarding saved work.

Use one taxonomy-editing conversation at a time. Your prepared work is shared across your sessions. Coordinate with teammates because a published taxonomy update can make earlier prepared work outdated.

Publish your changes

1. Review the complete set of prepared changes.
2. Tell the Agent that you want to publish.
3. Review the summary and select the historical coverage for the update.

The Agent offers these actions:

• Publish with no backfill
• Publish with the last 1 month
• Publish with the last 3 months
• Publish with the last 6 months
• Cancel

A Publish action approves the complete set shown. Cancel keeps your prepared changes for review. Saying that you have no more changes does not publish them.

Publishing starts immediately after approval. It usually takes 30 to 60 minutes. Taxonomy editing and lookup are temporarily unavailable while the update runs. Cancel cannot stop an update after publishing starts.

Ask the Agent for the current publishing status. The Agent checks the current state before it confirms completion.

Understand historical coverage

A backfill processes affected historical feedback again. The selected window controls historical coverage. Publishing with no backfill still applies the taxonomy changes and any fixed effects described in the review.

If your changes contain only theme or sub-theme renames or description updates, the backfill window does not change the result. For other changes, review the specific effects the Agent describes before you publish. Do not assume that a description edit will correct feedback classification. If feedback appears under the wrong concept, ask the Agent to investigate the relevant feedback and taxonomy structure.

Correct changes and resolve problems

After publishing, a correction requires a new reviewed taxonomy change. Recreating a deleted concept does not automatically restore its previous classifications.

If another update makes your prepared work outdated, ask the Agent to review it before continuing. The Agent needs your approval before discarding saved work.
