Setting up the Salesforce connector
Connect Enterpret to your Salesforce org so the Enterpret agent can work with your Salesforce data.
Salesforce needs an admin to approve Enterpret before a connection will work. If that has not happened yet, this guide walks through it.
Setup happens in two parts:
Who | What | When |
Your Salesforce admin | Create/prepare a permission set that approves Enterpret and assign it to users | Once per organisation |
Each Enterpret user | Connect Salesforce from the Enterpret UI | Once per person |
Part 1 — Salesforce admin setup (one time)
A Salesforce administrator needs to grant permission for Enterpret to be approved as a connected app, then assign that permission to the people who will connect.
In Salesforce, open Setup → Permission Sets.
Open an existing permission set for Enterpret, or click New to create one (for example, name it
Enterpret).Inside the permission set, open System Permissions and click Edit.
Enable Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps, then click Save.
Assign the permission set to the users who will connect Salesforce in Enterpret. Use Manage Assignments → Add Assignments, select the users, and confirm.
Why this permission? “Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps” lets an assigned user approve Enterpret during the OAuth sign-in step, so the connection can complete without the app being pre-installed in your org. Only users who need to connect require it.
Part 2 — Connect Salesforce in Enterpret (per person)
In Enterpret, go to Connectors → Salesforce → Connect.
Sign in as a user who has been assigned the permission set from Part 1.
Approve the requested access when Salesforce prompts you.
You are connected. Enterpret can now work with Salesforce on your behalf.
The account you sign in with matters. The connector acts as that Salesforce user and inherits their permissions and record visibility. Sign in as the account whose access you want Enterpret to use.
